2026 edition · dashboards + Notion visuals

Make it visual before you make it bigger.

The 2026 playbook for dashboards people actually read — and Notion pages people actually open. Covers, charts, tables and free images with licenses you can trust.

Desk workspace with notebook and coffee — plan dashboards before building

Notion aesthetic in 2026

Transparent covers, widgets, in-doc charts and archive art. Four trends worth copying.

Transparent minimal covers

Transparent minimal covers

Clean covers that blend into any theme. The 2026 default: distraction-free headers, one accent, generous whitespace.

Seasonal palettes + widgets

Seasonal palettes + widgets

Habit trackers, mood logs and visual charts as widgets. Swap palettes per season to keep routines fresh.

Charts inside docs

Charts inside docs

Progress bars, mood trackers and mini tables directly in the page — the Notion version of a Power BI card.

Museum + archive art

Museum + archive art

Notion's April 2026 drop added timeless covers: natural textures, Hudson River School paintings, silk paintings, watercolor fruits.

Dashboard rules we use on this site

Same rules as Power BI, none of the bloat. See them live on the homepage →

KPIs first

Four numbers answer 80% of questions: total, free, premium, average price. Everything else is detail.

One bar chart

Templates by category, sorted desc, single gradient. Never 3D, never dual-axis unless you must.

One donut + one table

Donut for the split (free vs premium). Table with sparklines for the ranking. Done.

Free image directory

Free means no fee — not no rules. Check each license before bundling images into templates you sell; creating a new design with a photo is safer than redistributing the file.

License notes simplified — always confirm on the source site. Avoid identifiable faces for commercial use unless model releases are verified, and never imply endorsement.
